We've been hearing rumors for quite some time that Honda will be replacing the Citrus Yellow color with blue for the 2001 Insight in the U.S..

However, there has been some confusion as to what shade of blue will be offered. Some people assumed that this would be the same blue that is being offered in Europe & Japan ("Oxygen Blue"). However, Honda's 2001 Product Update Guide confirms that the 2001 Insight will be offered in "Monte Carlo Blue Pearl" (as first reported here on May 8th).

It also confirms that the continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) will be offered in the U.S. beginning in the spring of 2001, as we've been expecting. No other changes are listed for the 2001 model year.

We don't yet have any information on what colors or options will be offered outside of the U.S.
