On September 28th, Toyota announced that they will be introducing a hybrid minivan in Japan in the spring of 2001.

Based on the Toyota Estima, already being sold in Japan, the hybrid version will feature a gasoline/electric drivetrain powering the front wheels, in addition to an electric motor powering the rear wheels.
