Honda returns to the 2001 Tour de Sol, an annual 'green' and 'clean' car rally organized by the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association, as Gold Sponsor, the highest level of sponsorship for a manufacturer.

The Tour starts in Waterbury, CT, on Mon., May 21, heads to Albany, NY, and then travels through central Massachussetts to finish in Boston, MA, on Sat., May 26.

Two 2001 Insights with the new CVT automatic transmission will serve as pace cars.

Insight owners are encouraged to attend the public displays. Honda will have a front and center display at each stop. Michael Tebo of American Honda will be driving the pace car. Anyone that turns out can stop by the Honda display to pick up some Insight goodies.

The Tour de Sol displays will feature:

• 50 exhibits of futuristic cars, buses and bikes
• Test-drives in hybrid cars
• Raffles for electric bikes
