Brian Collins forwarded me a copy of this letter than he received from American Honda in response to his concerns about electro-magnetic field levels produced by the Insight.

Brian Collins had some EMF mesaurements done on his Insight. Based on this, he became concerned about EMF levels in the Insight - so much so that he sold his Insight back to a Honda dealership.

He has since been raising this issue with Honda and others, and has recently received this letter from Honda.

In response to Brian's concerns, Honda has measured Insight EMF levels using the standard equipment established by the U.S. National Traffic Safety Administration. In this letter Honda states that these measurements showed the EMF levels produced by the Insight to be "within the same ranges as standard passenger vehicles equipped with high-energy ignition systems."

Honda has also questioned the test methods that Brian used, saying in part that the manfacturer of the Tri-Field meter Brian used doesn't recommend its use for this sort of measurement.

However, Brian is not satisfied, feeling that Honda has ignored some of his findings, and he is looking for support in pursuing this further.
