The "fix" is _only_ when the IMA light comes on with a "battery code of death" and your outside the "old" warranty period.

If you live in the right state _and_ your within 10/150K then the battery replacement is covered.
With that said there have been 2 (IIRC) credible past reports in here of IMA battery _failure_ AND no code(s). There's where the going may get tougher.
