Subscribing vs. Bookmarking
1. Subscribing- - You can subscribe to a topic (thread) or a forum. When subscribing to a topic, you can choose to be notified of new replies within a given thread. When choosing to subscribe to a forum (such as the Announcements forum), you will be notified of any new threads that are posted in this section of the Coummunity.
- To subscribe to a thread or forum, scroll down and click on the "Subscribe Topic" or "Subscribe Forum" link located in the light-blue band located at the very end of the page.
2. Bookmarking- - Bookmarking only works for threads, since you see can all the different forums on the front page of the Community and therefore don't need them to be bookmarked. Unlike subscriptions, bookmarks don't notify you of new posts but (much like browser bookmarks) they allow you to very quickly locate your favorite threads later.
- To bookmark a thread, simply scroll down to the end of the thread and click on the "Bookmark" link located in the light-blue band located at the very end of the page.
3. Managing Subscriptions and Bookmarks- To manage your subscriptions and bookmarks, go into your User Control Panel (link towards the top of each page, under the "Board Index" link in the blue band) and select the appropriate option from the left.
