The rotating IMA motor, generates up to 280 AC three phase power. This power is rectified to DC in the regen circuitry of the inverter, and is also sent to the battery. The dc/dc converter ties into this "Regen" buss, and as long as it is enabled and the IMA battery has power, the 12V system will be charged.
