You know, the only time I've actually gotten below 40mpg was when I had to sit in the parking lot of a supermarket with the A/C on to keep the groceries cool. It was an abysmal 29.2 mpg reported on the MID. I ended up getting my lowest ECO rating, too, for the trip with three leaves (or 1.5 plants, as I see it).
Contrast that with my recent trip along the Kentucky AA highway and a length of I-64 to and from Charleston, WV which netted an average of around 60mpg for the whole trip both ways.
