Well if you read it on the Internet then it must be true. Bearing fixing a gear mesh grind!?? How? Why?
More likely the synchomesh ring. But with all Honda MT's I've built its what is generically called the blocker ring that wears out first. Catches the syncro ring 1st, then the synchro ring catches the gear to bring it into synchronous speed with the shaft, readying the dog teeth to mesh without raking or clashing. The last time I checked in most Honda MT's the "blocker" ring and synchromesh rings are only available with the gear set (2nd gear set is what you would need).
Yes, you could "buy" some lower cost time if the blocker ring was available seperately, but the 3 work together as a "system". It wouldn't be fixed (long term) unless replaced as a set.
But without disassembly and inspection its all guesswork.
