Manual tranny problems
Trekker - the above thread, where Steve (Leeper) documented his work on the tranny is where the quest for the bearing came from (now in hand from a dealer in Indy).
I agree that you can't trust what you read on the internet (though I sure do trust what I read here!) and until the M/T is apart, it is unknown what will be needed, but my plan is to purchase a used low mileage M/T from a yard and then "play" with this one and put it aside.
With my lofty goal of keeping the car as long as possible and with the odometer only at 128K, I figure that the original tranny would wind up going back in at 250K for the last leg of
the "journey" on the car. Who knows if all this planning will pan out and yield what I hope for...only time will tell.
