That idea is not only funny, but it might also be a relatively inexpensive and fast way to ship battery sticks. The medium USPS Flat Rate Priority Mail box is 13.625" x 11.875" x 3.375", or about 18" diagonal if my Pythagorus theorem calculations are correct. I don't know the exact size of a battery stick, but based on the size of a standard D cell, I would think that at least 2 sticks would fit in one of these boxes. The postage for one of these boxes is $10.20. So it seems like shipping all 20 sticks would cost no more than about $100. Could your customer disassemble his old Civic battery and mail the sticks to you?
