It is adaptive
I have one in my CVT and it works great.....This brand seems to be the most common cruise control that people have added to their Insights. The RF swtich is also a nice option as it makes the install appear to be more stock looking. Here is what the switch looks like installed on an MT model:
I have a CVT so my cruise control switch is mounted on the other side and the shape matches the "D and S" CVT control switch.

I don't use mine that often (due to some MPG loss) but on a long trip, it comes in handy using it for a few minutes to give the right foot a break every so often.
