On my EX I hear this noise in 2 specific instances:
1) Slowly down / when the battery is recharging.
2) When I'm at 2 bars from full charge in auto-stop or warming up.
I haven't spent much time on it, I've heard headache causing high pitch sounds on my friend's Prius.
