If someone mines this thread, I believe I have already gathered some ideas and started a wish list, for MIMA 2
On the smart brake bar, One of the guys that was at the hybrid gathering last year and I discussed just such a mod. He was the winner of the MPG challenge, and that is what he wants for his prize, but I still have not got much beyond figuring it out, and isassembling the brake light bar he brought.
The thing we came up with was that the 4 MIMA regen leds that are in the present MIMA display are already PWM brightness controlled, so if we passed the display ribbon through the distribution board, that already has a connector for that, and we put in 4 driver transistors and rewired the first and last 4 leds in the brake light bar, we could have a left and right repeat of the regen leds including current proportional variable brightness
There are 24 leds in the bar right now.
The MIMA display has 4 leds for regen, covering ~ .5 to 50A. R1 is the first to light.
The modified brake light would look like this:
R4-R3-R2-R1-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-R1-R2-R3-R4
Just need the time to play for a half day and it would be working.
Step on the brake, they all light, with the length of the bar changing based on the actual current. Use MIMA without the brake, and only the last 4 on each end would mirror the MIMA display. I bet it would look cool. May get pulled over for strange brake lights though?
