Shipping cost is an issue,.

I sought a Futomo Drain Valve, an old college friend in California, purchased it for me, about $25, the company do not ship to UK, When he looked into sending it, California to London UK, it came to another $70, a factor of 3 shipping to purchase price.

Anyone know of a low cost option, other than waiting till December when my friend will make the usual Christmas trip?

United States Postal Service Priority Mail Flat Rate Box, 8-5/8" x 5-3/8" x 1-5/8 (should be plenty big for a Fumoto Drain Valve), 4 pounds max (a Fumoto Drain Valve should weigh much less), $13.45 to anywhere in the world other than Canada and Mexico.

Lings are probably the best for online parts in the UK.

The big issue when living in Europe & buying stuff in USA is not only shipping cost, but much more import duty & VAT.

Last year i bought some small inexpensive stuff and had it posted to here, the
parts cost me $19 + app. $13 in postage, when it arrived here i had to pay import duty 10% = $3.3 and VAT 25% = $8.8 ending at a total price of $44.1
and on top of this customs/tax charged an expedition fee of 175 Dkr.... = $30

So parts costing $19 in the USA ended up costing me $74 when finally delivered to me....
