Wanted: used Bridgestone Potenza RE92 tires

Looking for 1st gen. Insight RE92 tires (in 165/65R14 size).

I'd be interested in them as long as they're not actually worn to the wear bar.

Yes, I could buy a new set, but I drive so little, any tire I buy will die of dry rot before the tread is worn out. So a used purchase seems fiscally prudent.

So, if you happen to be taking your RE92's off this fall and don't think you'll be putting them on again next spring, drop me a line. I'll actually pay you for them rather than you having to pay the disposal/recycling fee when you turn them in for a new set.

Be careful about getting tires that are too old. Tires are much more likely to experience blowouts after 5 years. There is a DOT # on every tire - the last 4 digits of the number are the week and year the tire was made. For example, if the last 4 digits are 3905, the tire was made in the 39th week of 2005.

I'd offer you mine but the rears have 1/32" before the wear bars and are cracked and probably the same age as the car, the fronts are currently off the car because they hit the wear bars and I've got snow tires on, I'm replacing all 4 within the next few weeks. You might have luck if you contact Brent. He sells parts of junked Insights he buys, most of the time he sells the tires with rims where the tires are bald but you might have him keep a lookout for you or be on his 'first contact' list if someone else isn't already.

I've had a couple of leads on used RE92's... but in one case, their location made shipping costs a little extravagant, and in another case they were already at/past the wear bars.
