Default 2000 Insight FS in Chicago - was in Accident

Hi,
Last Sunday, I was in an accident in my 2000 silver insight. The insurance company is close to totalling it. Wife and I would like to replace it. Vehicle has 160,000 miles on it - but the battery pack was replaced at around 143,000. Accident damage is on the passenger side door and rear quarter panel from being t-boned. Also some damage to rear bumper after hitting lamp post. Rocker panel would also need to be replaced - along with some part underneath the rocker that needs to be cut out and have a new piece re-welded. There is probably some value with the battery pack alone. Rest of vehicle was maintained by my brother in law who was a Honda tech.

Any interest, vehicle is in a northern suburb of Chicago.

Thanks!

Hello
Any pictures of the car? How much are you asking? Can it be driven?

Thank you

I don't have any pictures currently. It's at the body shop. I can see what I can do about getting some today.

As far as if it can be driven, I'll need to talk to the shop. i was able to back it out of the intersection, so the drive train was still in tact. And the estimate that i received did not mention anything about the drivetrain components, so while it may be drivable, off hand I don't know.

I'll see what I can find out.

I have a great insight for you to replace it with! Its a 2000 with a 5spd manual, a/c, and had new batteries about 12k miles ago (in May 200. I'm asking $8250 for it. Let me know if you're interested!

If you have carpet floor mats in your Insight, I'd be interested in buying those if they are in good condition.

Sorry for the confusion. When I said we were looking to replace it, it is not necessarily with another insight. We are looking to get something with some more size to it...

Drivable so/so, pictures might help. How much are you asking?

Thank you

Just to give an update - I haven't had a chance to go to the shop to get any pictures (swamped at the office) - but I will be taking the vehicle back home without repairing it. When I asked the body shop person if it was ok to drive to my house (5 miles or so) he said that there shouldn't be any problem. So, the question of if it is drivable, the answer is yes.

Let us know how much you're asking for it. I'd love to have a project.

If you ever decide to part it out I am looking for all the underside plastics and 4 rims.

How much are you asking? And have you taken any pictures yet? What color is it?
