I think you're a little too far away for me, but I do have a friend near Ohio that I've let know about this thread. He wants to know a little bit more about the squeaking sound. Is it squeaking the entire time, or is it when you press the gas, or braking or something else?

It seems to be making the noise when the clutch is out. As soon as I touch the clutch pedal, the sound stops. On the surface it has the symptoms of an input shaft bearing, however I've heard bad input shaft bearings in several Civics and this does NOT sound like a bad ISB.

I had a Miata that would make a similar noise when the ball/socket between the slave cyl and the release arm would dry up. A shot of grease every 5k miles would keep it quiet. I've been meaning to try that, but it's currently freezing outside.
