Imperfections: Bicycle messenger broke the passenger side mirror and left some scratches when car was owned by 2nd owner (I'm the 3rd). Mirror replaced, scratches have been touched up, and right fender was repainted (silver not an exact match) -- car has no dents. So car is not perfect -- but it's very nice.
Reason for sale: Military, being transferred to east coast. Vehicle currently in Central California Coast area (Santa Maria/Vandenberg Air Force Base). I'd keep the car if I was staying in CA, but move forces me to reduce my stable of vehicles.

Reason: Lower price -- transfer moved up
Marc,
Nice ride! But that's not the actual interior right? I thought '04 and up came with beige/gray door handle vs black.

You have a sharp eye, and you're partially right -- the '04 and later did come with the light colored door handle.
But the photo is the actual interior of my car. The previous owner, an airline pilot, didn't like that light color for the door handle. So he changed the handles out (both sides) with black ones.
He was a real perfectionist, and made the other improvements. He had the custom seat covers made, which are very nice (offer extra support and are soft).
He also had the the floor mats and hatch carpet made. They install over the original carpet. He put a little sound insulation in the spare tire well, and in a few other spots -- so the car is a little extra quiet.
He also had a professional tinting job done on the rear hatch glass and two little back side windows -- it really keeps the cabin cooler so the a/c is unnecessary (at least here in the Central Cali Coast).
Additionally, he installed a Miata shift knob (very nice) and a center console arm rest with a little storage cubby. There are some other minor things he improved I'm forgetting at the moment -- let me know if you see anything else!
I'd love to hang on to the car -- it's a really sharp Insight. And as you know, most of the post 2001 Insights were CVTs -- so this MT is rare.
But duty calls and the Air Force is moving me this spring -- so I have to reduce my stable of vehicles.
Thanks for checking out the ad!
V/r,
-- Marc

Reason: Forgot tinting
