Default UK Group Purchase of Honda Scan Tool

It's time us UK owners looked again at getting a scan tool for our mutual benefit.

The last one we bought did not work out sadly, but that's a few years ago and a new tool is now available.

MVCI TOYOTA TIS+HONDA HDS+VOLVO DICE on eBay (end time 07-Apr-11 08:42:22 BST)

Yes the one above is a chinese clone but I'm prepared to stick in £50 any one else?

We need a honda tool to help with decoding the IMA ODBII signals for better battery diagnostics. It also allegedely allows ECM programming and key coding this all helps us avoid Honda UK Garages ludicrous fees.

Please add your name to this thread if interested. I suggest miminum donation £50. I'll make the purchase on behalf of the group if we get enough interest. The item can be shipped around the UK for contributors to use as reqd. If we get it in time i could bring it to the UK gathering! http://www.insightcentral.net/forums/178297-post1.html

Ultimately if it works it could lead to me developing an ODBII based gizmo to do MIMA, BCM gauge and ODBII diagnostics but i can't afford to fund all the development myself. We need to support each other here in UK. Our cars are getting rarer by the day.

Of course there is no guarantee whatsoever it will arrive or work as reqd, so only join if you can afford to lose the money.
No I didn't run off to the bahamas with a dusky maiden on the money from the last one!!

Peter

Peter, count me in too. Sometime in the future I am going to need your expertise and help with a replacement battery or lithium upgrade, so happy to do what I can now.

Default It's arrived.

I'm back from holiday now and the unit was waiting in my post box Won't get a chance to play with it for a few days though as my laptop died on holiday taking my latest ima control source code with it, so I'm sorting all that out first I still hope to get it back from the hard disk!!

If those who agreed to contribute want to paypal me the money £50 to peter@solarvan.gotadsl.co.uk that would be great. Those without paypal can pay me in cash at UK gathering day, let me know either way. I'll bring the tool to the UK day if it works so you can have a look. Fingers crossed now.

I've plugged this in a waded thru the software install. It works partly so far.

A generic odbii terradyne software package works, device itself looks ok.

The HONDA HDS software doesn't at the moment so still no access to the IMA codes and other functions!! It gets so far then fails to see the car!

Still lots of fiddling about to do finding new drivers and versions of the hds software and hacks etc

Been looking on this forum and am about to try some newer software.
