Default 2004 Insight OEM Stereo w/CD

This is a nice OEM 2004 Honda Insight stereo w/Disc player that I recently removed to install an aftermarket stereo. It works well. $55 + shipping.

Sold.
Thanks!

I need the radio code and/or VIN number for the car it came from to unlock this CD player. I had no idea I would need to enter a code for the theft protection!!!

I sent you a PM also, but wanted to cover my bases and post here as well. So far this is a really expensive piece of ballast, hoping to make it put sound out instead of just look pretty.

Call Honda... One of the prompts actually is to give you the radio code.

i wonder if all you need is the vin# and call honda to get the code. In that case, if a thief were to steal a radio like this, they could also note down the vin number and get the anti-theft code from honda.

I thought the code is usually written on a card or something that most people keep with the user manual.

I would think that they would have to ask for some type of information about the sale of the car or proof of ownership (something unique and personal)......It would just be silly of Honda to automate the request of the code just based on the VIN number.....

By the way, if the code can not be found on any card from the previous owner, if they have any paper work of warranty or repair performed by Honda, many times the code is printed out on that paperwork.

That is how I found the radio code on my recently acquired 2004 red CVT.

I finally got it working today. It took two calls into Honda over a two day period and 10 attempted codes before I finally got one that would work. What a pain in the butt!

For the record, this is definitely a case of keeping honest people honest. I openly admitted the CD player wasn't from my car, provided no proof of ownership, and the CD player never came in this car. This radio code thing is a huge disservice to the owners, in my opinion. They gave me 9 codes that might work on the first call, 11 codes that might work on the second call. 10th time is a charm!
