I'll answer that. I purchased it and will pick it up on the 25th of may. I can hardly wait.
I have a couple of carfaxes I can still run if anyone needs one. PM me.
Cool.
Is this your 1st Insight?

Yep. Been looking for 2 plus years on and off. I drive a lot for work so compared to what I'm driving now there is actually a payback. Alternatively I could have gotten an I2 but there never would have been a payback. For me that is important. With healthcare insurance going through the roof, there cannot be any car payments for us.
Over the next few months I'll be hitting this forum hard for tips and answers to questions about this quirky little car! 55mpg here I come!
Excellent, looking forward to helping walk you through Insight ownership.
Also, it's a good thing that you said "55MPG here I come!" and not "80MPG here I come!". Means you have realistic expectations.

Having realistic expectations is what lead me to the Insight in the first place. After watching "Who Killed the Electric Car" I endeavored to convert my RAV4 to 100% electric. The problem came when I realized that it would take 15k worth of batteries to go 80 miles! Then what about the times I needed to go further? Sure, I could carry a generator but the energy conversion with off the shelf parts is awful. I still might do something where I put 72 volts of lead acid and go 10 miles or something. Just for around town. Then use my Insight for daily driving and other times when I have to travel a long distance. Overall, if your goal is to travel further with less money and 2 seats are not a big deal, the only way to do that is to get an Insight for 6 or 7k. The Insight makes my '97 RAV4 that gets 28mpg look like a gas guzzler!
