I have a gen 1 insight to sell (I own 4). Before I go onto Craigs list or ebay I would prefer to present it to anyone who knows about these cars so I don't need to be a salesman and demo the car to those who know nothing about it or just the curious. In these times of $4 gas I'm sure it would keep me busy showing the car to the unbelievers.
It is a 2000 red Gen I insight with manual transmission and AC, 53,000 original miles. The battery was replaced under warranty at 40,000 miles. Upgrades include brand new RE 92 tires, and new brakes and rotors. The drivers seat has been raised 3/4" and the seats covered with new Wet Okole covers with an added inch of high density foam underneath. This gives the car a luxury feel and better visibility. I replaced the original radio with one from a newer Insight that has a CD player; a more powerful radio which would excel with upgraded speakers, but I never got around to upgrading the speakers.
Although we live in Maine, the car has been garaged and taken out and driven only in summer. It is started and recharged periodically.
There are 2 dings in the body, smaller than a dime. A non-smoker. Interior is pristine.
I expect to get $12,000 for it, but would take $11,750 if the buyer didn't want the seat covers.
