Default For Sale - 2000 Citrus Yellow (green) 77k miles like new!

Hi Everyone:

I am a car collector. I only purchase the very best cars available.

For sale is my 2000 Honda Insight. Rare Citrus Yellow (green)

I am prepping the car for sale on ebay. It should be posted and sell within the next 30 days.

I am the 2nd owner. It is a 5 speed. It also has the optional A/C and 6 disc CD player. Everything works perfectly as new. The car interior is a 9 out of 10. The car exterior is 9 out of 10. Looks, drives like new. No accidents.

I have all service records. Car always serviced at Honda dealer no matter the cost. Original IMA lasted 10 years. New IMA installed last year in November 2010. The car just had it's 75k mile service. It just turned 77k miles last week. Everything is perfect with dealer documents as proof.

I prefer to sell the car to someone on this forum who truly can appreciate this rare edition. I also prefer to sell locally here in Northern California. Serious buyers will make the effort to come see the car or send a friend to inspect the car. That is what I do when I really want a car for my collection. I'm 100% confident the first buyer who comes to see it will buy the car. It's that nice.

Keep in mind this car needs to be driven almost daily. Even though I'm a car collector it doesn't mean my cars sit in my garage and collect dust. Letting this car sit idle is the worst thing for this little gem.

Based on recent sales I am asking $10,700 for the car. It may appear high to you enthusiasts (and please no distasteful comments) ........but trust me when I tell you it will be worth every penny to the right buyer. How do I know? I purchased this car for thousands more than asking on ebay 3 years ago. Every day when I get a thumbs up from other hybrids on the road it puts a smile on my face and confirms I made a great purchase. I'm selling the car to make room for another car I purchased. I'm going to miss this wonderful little car.

Serious buyers can call me for all the details, email, photos and meeting. Please call me 10am - 8pm Pacific Standard Time. Leave your name, phone and email if you don't reach me in person.

All the best to my favorite forum,

Default Addendum - winshield starburst

I forgot to mention one flaw.

When I purchased the car it had a very small windshield starburst down below where the wiper blades are located. I never see it and forget it's there. I considered replacing the windshield with a brand new Honda OEM windshield because my insurance will do this repair free. But I never made the time to do this. If the new owner wants a brand new windshield (which would be ideal) I will have this repair made before the sale.

Price of 10.7K seems low. Maybe a deal for forum members?

True value now of the car is ~14K.

I know because I just bought one a couple months ago.
It took me 3 years to find a nice low mileage original.

How are you figuring the $14K amount? A citrus MT in good shape sold for $7 on ebay in Feb. Is this really worth twice as much, or was that a total steal?

Mine is the non-citrus variety but I paid $3500 plus tax, tag & title for my 2000 Honda Insight MT (silver) with 66,000 miles on it.

It didn't sell on eBay. The auction was cancelled by the seller.
Not the same condition car either, plus gas wasn't $5 a gallon in Feb.

That was a good deal assuming it wasn't a salvage title.
SoCal prices are higher because the state is broke and people
who can't leave are subject to ridiculous prices on everything.

Are you guy's nuts? 14k ? This isn't some rare classic, this is a 10 year old car with 75k miles on it. Go and try trading it in right now, see what you can get for it lol. It's not going to be pretty.

These days with the cars being in high demand his price is the limit imo. Any higher and people just won't get it.

I got mine 3 months ago with 170k miles on it in good condition for 3.5k. (Southern Dad your one lucky guy Congrats)

You would be lucky to get 5K trade in at a dealer.
