Default Yellow gen 1 Insight

Anyone see the 2005 yellow Insight that's on AutoTrader?

Obviously a paint job since no factory yellow were ever made. Based on the pics, looks to be a decent job. The pic of the engine bay shows that the car was originally silver. Back in my yellow-car phase, I would've been all over this, but back then I didn't know about the Insight. It doesn't say why it was repainted or even that it was repainted.

It's overpriced for me. I wouldn't spend that much on a car that was repainted, especially one that is a radically different color from factory. A thorought job would require painting inside the engine bay to make everything look factory.

I saw a yellow Insight a few months back as well. Dad and I were driving from the Springs to Boulder when we saw it go the other way. We were also wondering if it was a repaint, or a factory color. I know in Japan they're available in more colors than what we get here. So it's possible it's a factory color, but good question.
I saw a white one on ebay earlier this year. Wished I saved pictures of it as I can't find any! It looked really, really good. Almost like it was factory paint.

Yea it does! And look's to be factory paint as well judging from the door jams and engine bay.
I've been trying to find pictures of the white one I saw on ebay several months or last year. Only pictures I can find of white ones is like a brochure type picture where it's in blank space with no background.

I'd love to get mine repainted, silver is so common and to me look's like bear metal.

On the last pic, it looks like the front shock towers and front radiator support are silver. My car's silver so I can't say for sure, but shouldn't those be yellow if it was factory?

Looks like the yellow (Spa?) from the S2000 maybe? I'm going to make my 01 Insight in Gran Turismo 5 yellow as a result of this

I wish Forza 3 had the Insight.
I've got the Xbox 360 and I feel silly wanting to buy a game system specifically for one game, and specifically for one car. But, I find it interesting that you can drive an Insight in any racing simulator game. It's not really a car you can tune, modify, and race!

I hope Forza 4 brings me my Insight, otherwise I might as well buy a PS3, or 4.

Yeah, it's definitely a repaint. The engine bay is a dead giveaway.

It actually doesn't look that bad though..

Well, how often do you open the hood anyway? When I had my 88CRX SI repainted from Honda Silver to BMW Alpine White, we had everything redone but the engine-bay. Despite the fact that I removed the engine from it, but there was just to many other things in the way of a good respray.
As long as the door jams and everything else is painted to match, it doesn't bother me. I still dream on repainting my Insight white with white wheels.
