WTB: Rearview Mirror, chrome door handles, seat covers
1. Need interior rearview mirror for my Gen1 (2002) Insight.
2. Need both interior chrome door handles.
3. Driver's seat covers (grey interior).
My current mirror is delaminating the silver interior lining (weird!), and the chrome is flaking off the interior handles (never seen that before either). The driver's seat looks like water stains on both lower and upper.

Invest in a hog-ring pliers set off ebay (about $10) to reattach the seat cover, then take the seat out of the car and clip the old hog-rings. Slip off the cover (top and bottom) and wash them. They are machine washable. Hang them out to dry instead of using a dryer. Those stains will be gone. When they're dry, slip them on and reattach with the new hog-rings. Then put it back into the car.
The change in color (from removing the dirt) will be so drastic that you'll want to wash both seats.
Here are a set of Euro seats after being washed.

Bought/Sold/Dismantled six Insights so far, and every single one has been silver . I want a Citrus to keep for myself
@HBR: thanks for the tip! I was thinking a wash might work, but didn't know for sure... that will save me a ton of money with DIY trick.
@Jeff652: thanks for the lead... I'll check it out!
LOVE this forum!!!
Averaged 64mpg from Charlotte, NC to Pensacola, FL on my first trip returning from the dealer. Most of that at around 70mpg with ECON A/C on at 73degrees. I'm grinning from ear-to-ear.
I ended up using a usedparts website... got two interior door handles and a new rearview mirror (tiny crack in plastic, but he told me about it). All for $40. Just installed the handles yesterday and the mirror.
The new handles were removed from the donor car a little roughly, I assume, as the actuator rod retaining clip was broken, but I used the good one from mine.
The rearview mirror was missing the spring-loaded retaining hardware, but again, salvaged the one from my mirror. That took a little figuring out as to how that works...but got it all worked out fine. Nice to not have a delaminated silver coating now...the mirror is again useful.
