**** SALE PENDING TO WAYNETC ****
For sale: 2006 Insight 5 speed transmission with just over 29k (carfax verified) miles on it. VIN # JHMZE13726S000777. It came with the 2004 Insight that I have been parting out. The previous owner had several Insights he was dismantling and swapped the transmission into the 2004 because the transmission was 'stuck'. (It has sat for several years and the input shaft bearing developed some rust.)
I personally disassembled this transmission and cleaned & inspected every single part. I replaced the input shaft bearing, input shaft bearing seal, main shaft ball bearing, and replaced the thrust washer to recalibrate the main shaft thrust tolerance. There was/is no other damage of any kind. The 1-2 syncro set is perfect, and looks identical to the brand new one I have waiting to go into my 2001 transmission. Everything functions perfect, as if brand new. This is an amazing transmission that the buyer will be very happy with.
It is going on ebay in early January for $899. I am offering it here first for the Insight Central price of $800 +s/h in case someone is in need of a 'like new' transmission for their car.
I have over 30 photos of the process that I am happy to share with interested parties but here are a couple:
New Input shaft bearing and seal:
