Parting out 2000 Insight

The only parts I'm selling are the gas and hybrid related parts. I'm keeping everything else for an EV conversion.

I'm parting out a 2000 Insight. Has 170k miles on the odometer. Everything is in perfect working condition unless noted.

Here is what I have ready to sell

Motor Drive Module with fan. I think I will keep the DC to DC converter for the EV project.

Both O2 sensors. Actually they are like new and from my other Insight. Both are confirmed working and OEM.

OEM CD changer. - Currently in the process of removing it.

If you interested in something not listed here just let me know what it is and I will work on removing it.

If you want pictures just let me know and I'll post some.

If your interested in the engine you will have to pick it up. I wont ship it of obvious reasons. I don't have any equipment to remove it so if you want it you'll have to wait or do it yourself.

I'm guessing that you are going to reuse the transmission? If it is for sale how are the 1st and 2nd gear syncro's?

Excellent! I have one that I'm going do do the same thing with. What kind of motor are you using? I was thinking of using an AC-50 system, AC, nice regen, has lots of setable parameters. Lithiums? What are you doing about an adapter plate? Do you have a drawing that you can share?

Dont want to get off topic but I will try to answer your questions.

I have no idea yet. If everything goes OK it will be about 5 years out before it rolls as an EV. as of today it would most likely be a DC system with an impulse 9 ( because thats what Wane Alexander said he could fit in there ) a Soliton Jr with some CALB 100Ah cells or something larger. Just depends on what will fit.

I would love an AC system but DC seems to be the better cheaper solution at the moment. That could all change in the next few years. Especially if Curtis releases an higher voltage and higher amperage controller.

My target is around 144v or higher and 500A or higher. All with 50 mile range in the worst conditions.

I will have a different topic on the EV conversion when I get it started.

If those are the ones just for aerodynamics I think I will be keeping them. I don't even know it the car has them. Never looked. Sorry.

How is the oil pan? What is the condition of the threads on the drain plug hole?

Thats also something I have not checked yet. I'll try to do that this weekend. I need to drain the fuel from the tank too this weekend which I need to figure out the best way to do that.
