Default 2000 Manual Insight 133,000 $2000 Bend, Oregon

The car still runs and drives as great as it ever has. Still gets 60-70 mpg every tank. The battery is about as good as you can hope for on a hybrid with this many miles. The IMA light has never come on. On long climbs the battery will discharge to about 40% before it is totally drained and goes into the charging cycle. Paint is silver.

I went to the dealership the other day to get my oil changed and they told me that all of the bolts on the exhaust system are rusted out. The muffler is fine, but everything between the muffler and the motor have to go. To install a new exhaust system the motor would have to come off and the exhaust system bolt holes would have to be redrilled. I don't want to do that. But if you do, this car is yours for $2000. The dealership also wanted me to replace the tranny, but it still works fine. The sychro is dodgy on second gear, so you have to double clutch when you down-shift into 2nd from a higher gear (which you shouldn't have to do very often). But it still shifts smoothly from first to second, and into all of the other gears.

Tires are OEM bridgestone ze92 with about 10,000 miles on them. Interior isn't immaculate, but you get what you pay for. I just had the front brake rotors replaced in November.

Oh man... Oh man... this isn't fair. I want this car REALLY bad, but we're so behind on our savings goals(grid charger, MIMA, christmas, phones, projects, life...), really have to buckle down the next few months. Then hopefully I'll actually have room for more Insights..

There will be more great deals.. there will be more great deals...there will be more great deals..

lol

I predict this car will be sold by midnight :-P

Sounds like a pretty decent car for not much scratch.

Yes, this car and I lived in Michigan, and I believe it came from Ohio before it became mine.

I'll have some photos up shortly.

I think all told my travel expenses would be more like $700 for the round trip because flying back into the Redmond airport isn't cheap. But I would be willing to make the trip for 2700 if you are serious. I have some time off in the next couple of weeks before I start a new job.

Did you get my PM? Let's chat. I'm ready to deposit funds into your bank account immediately.

Thanks
