Hi All,
I bought this car with a little over 200k on it several years ago while I was living in Massachusetts. Shortly after buying the car, I bought a battery pack out of a 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid with 78k miles on it, reconditioned the sticks and installed it in the car. Over 60k miles later and it is still working great. It will recal on long climbs up the hills, but for normal commuting along the peninsula, it works like a champ and is averaging 60mpg (55mpg lifetime).
I recently replaced the plugs and one of the ignition coils (the plastic housing of the original broke when I was trying to remove the rusted bolt), and just last weekend installed a brand new EGR valve (after attempting all of the normal EGR rebuild fixes). The tires and brakes are in good shape and everything is mechanically sound. The transmission is smooth and solid.
Cosmetically, it looks like a car that has 270k miles on it. There is a number of paint chips on the hood and some scrapes and dings on the bumpers, along with a touched up area where someone keyed it. Also, it has the original windshield which is basically sandblasted. The interior has the normal wear and tear; the seats are in good shape, but it does need a driver's side floor mat. I put in an aftermarket stereo that sounds great (Pioneer MVH-P8200BT head, Kenwood Kfc-1693Ps in the doors, and Infinity Reference 6030cs in the rear powered by a Kenwood Kac-5204 amp). AC blows cold (not that it is needed around here)
I will post some images later today when I get a chance to snap them. The reason I am selling is that I moved from Massachusetts about 6 months ago, have a company car and girlfriend's car occupying the space in the garage and I'm tired of getting parking tickets and worrying about jockying cars around. I love the car and hate to sell it, but it's time to pass it on.
Clean CA title. I'm not sure what to ask - is $5000 reasonable?
Located in San Mateo, CA. Please contact me if you are interested in the car. I forgot to mention that I also have the repair manual that I will include.
Thanks!
Chris
And now for the pics!
