Default Four Insights being parted out at a shop in the Bay Area, CA

Hi everyone,

I was searching Craiglist and found a guy who is pretty much parting out four Honda Insights that are either wrecked or non operational. Two silver and two red, pretty much complete. Some notable items:

Stock tan rear speaker set up. He wanted $100

Trunk carpet mat? $80-rough condition

The guy apparently used to repair and sell them but realized he could make more money if he pieced them out. If anyone is interested goto craigslist and search for "honda insight" under parts.

Good luck!

Buyer beware. Myself and a few friends have spoken with/visited him. He tends to over represent the quality of his parts (and is pretty expensive). He also has a lot of Prius parts that are never as good in person as they are when he describes them on the phone.

Jeff,

Thanks that's good to know! I'm new to the insight game so I don't really know what to expect.

Then I'd hate top see his "Trunk carpet mat? $80-rough condition"

Yeah, I just spoke with him too (a thick forgeign accented guy,) about a used upper o2 sensor for a 5-speed 01-06. He says he has them, but wanted $125! I told him I could buy new for that and thanks anyway. He then dropped to $100, then $75, but still too much for a used one that I suspect if it throws a code once installed (if it's bad,) I wouldn't be getting my money back or a replacement very easily. PASS!

Hey Jeff, was this guy in hayward? In 2008 when i was looking for an insight there was a middle easter guy in hayward with 5 or 6 salvage title insights and a bunch of salvage title prius in a shop in hayward. I test drove a couple and he seemed nice enough but maybe he is cleaning out his shop after mashing together all those cars.
By the way I think I may keep my Insight but I am looking for any way to squeeze more power out of it, any suggestions? I was even thinking that changing the gear ratios in the manual tranny might help me get up steep windy hills without having to downshift to 1st.

Yeah that's him. You have a nice Insight glad you are keeping it. I have heard rumors that some of the 92-95 Civic gears might be interchangeable but no idea if it is true.
