I am the 3rd owner of a silver, 1st generation Honda Insight that is located in Central California.
Clean title, no accidents
207,000 miles
50 mpg
new IMA just before 150,000 mile mark (replaced under warranty)
Manual Transmission
Interior: 9/10
Exterior: 7/10
(missing rear passenger center wheel cap, previous owner had minor incident that caused scrapes and scratches on sides, front bumper black undercover is slightly torn on passenger side underneath but holding strong)
All maintenance records are intact, including receipts; vehicle's current owner is a professional mechanic.
IMA light came on and battery pack has been disconnected and removed, with vehicle being effectively solely gas-powered. I have been deliberating on whether to:
a) purchase a grid charger and try to revive the battery pack, which had cell(s) overheat and go bad according to codes thrown
b) replace the battery pack
or c) sell the car as is.
I have obviously decided to try to throw out some feelers and see the interest level in the vehicle as is. I have many details and am ready to answer any questions about the IMA and the car itself.
Overall, the rest of the vehicle is in great condition considering its age. I bought the vehicle because it was well maintained and babied by its previous owner, and I did the same with it. But I absolutely need something bigger (gonna get a CR-V!). I have loved this vehicle as a commuter car and will own one again someday when I can afford one of those new lithium-ion batteries they are going to come out with!!!
Please consider my pricing as follows:
***asking $4300 as is including the battery pack which needs work (car is running without it though, just fine, do your research regarding that scenario right here on this forum!!!)
***asking $5200 with a reconditioned battery pack
