I had just researched that too a couple of days ago wondering if only the pay folks could have them but it specifically says that free members can have a 96x96. But, when in the avatar screen, it won't unselect "Do not use an avatar". I could just pay to become a premium member, but what good does that do for our members? Is not supporting our vendors more important?

When I became a vendor (from a free member), the avatar was suddenly available to me. Prior to that it wasn't.
Hi all....I just signed up (as a freebie initially) and like the others, no avatar. The page comes up, but the 'no avatar' box is the default and you can't change it.
Avatars are small graphics that are displayed under your username whenever you post. Do not use an avatar Note: if you have a custom avatar selecting this option will delete it.
