Just keep reporting any you see and they will be deleted and banned. I rather get 15 reports then none at all.
In a yahoo group that I manage, all new members are automatically moderated (any postings are held until approved by a moderator). After we see a sensible post, we un-moderate them.

There's gotta be something we can do about this? Admin?

It cheapens the feel of the forum, IMO. I guess we can be thankful they aren't posting - yet. Maybe that's their plot, sign up 25,000 new members and then they'll all post at once?

I used to like looking at the Users Currently Online list to see what threads people are looking at and stuff, but it's pretty much unusable now with 50 new people signing up at a time, editing their sigs.

Dont do that again, you were almost promoted to a lurker. There was someone here who I banned and deleted all of their posts. Upon review most of their responses were : Yeah, Me too, and LOL. Basically nothing worth while was contributed then a link was added to all messages about horse rubbers. I seriously doubt hybrid owners would have a need for rubbers for their horses or even own horses in the first place.

I dont think we have a serious problem like some boards do and lets face it, spam is just a fact of life at this point.

Ron, I hate those boards as when I have a question and post its usually on a weekend or holiday and then I have to wait 3 days to get it posted, then up to a week to get a response when I need help ASAP.

Fighting the large scale spammers is a constant battle i'm not going to get into personally, that's autoforums job. I'm happy to delete the odd one who becomes active. To be honest I don't notice that many actually posting stuff. Perhaps we will be deluged soon, in that case we will have to start our own forum with our own Database and host etc. I'm certainly not volunteering to manage that.

When we see a spam post, to whom do we report it?

Use the report post icon which is on every post.

Thanks, Peter! I couldn't find the "Report Post" icon because it's not visible unless one is logged in. I guess I should start logging in even when just reading IC posts.
