Default stop the spammers

How about some software that automatically flags a post with a link in it from newly subscribed "members"?

Great suggestion.

Till then I have my finger on the trigger when I am not away, sick, work or with my family. Dont want to loose any new members either who just are not aware of the rules.

Just keep reporting any you see and they will be deleted and banned. I rather get 15 reports then none at all.

It's been a while since spamming has been a problem on this forum, so i guess
some kind of filtering is going on now preventing new "members" to post using
spam links in their signature.

I am working nightshift this week, and sometime last night as i was reading IC there were at that time 12 new "members" online, all of them were active registrering & putting in spam links in their signature, and at the moment now as i am writing this, there are 14 doing the same.....

If you look down in the history how many has been online today, there are more than 600, and 99% of the spammers have usernames such as xxxxxxx23417...

Are there some kind of flooding going on at the moment. ?

Yeah, I noticed it last night too, there were like 15 people creating accounts and editing their profiles at once..

"The most members online in one day was 698, Today."

At least they're not posting...

Edit: What the heck is going on? Zerg spammer rush!!!!

Members: 14,951

We're getting like 75 new signups an hour.. lol. That was at 14,8xx when I went to lunch a bit ago.

Keep in mind even if insightcentral has a dated design and seems rather quiet at times it is part of the autoguide group and its made up of almost hundred different sites.

Lets face it, spam and phishing are juist a way of life now. Best you can do is report anything that you do not think belongs and we will check it out. Dont assume someone else would report it and dont click on any links in the message.

Ads only work when people respond to them.
