Default Why are the New Posts resetting so quickly?

A number of times since I have joined I will be reading through a thread and by the time I finish and click on New Posts again, there will be no New Posts listed, even though there were 20 before I started reading that thread.

Can the time be lengthened before this occurs? It is pretty frustrating.

This morning I was on a thread for less than 15 minutes and it happened again. Any suggestions?

I'm having the same problem. If the site has been active and you haven't been by for a few days, you cannot read the new posts before it times out. It would be nice if a mod or admin could respond to this.

As I said, it would be nice if a mod or admin could respond to this. Happened again to me last night. I posted in a thread and when I went back to the lists, everything was "marked as read" as they say. I have been to sites that don't ever time out, even if you go away and come back days later. They only thing that marks them is actually clicking on a thread and reading it. Now that site is a minority, but this one is absolutely hare trigger. The time out is too fast period. Can this be addressed? I cannot seem to find anything in my user profile that adjusts it.

Although I have the title Admin my access levels and knowledge of how this site operates in the background is very limited. I suggest use the "Contact us" button at the bottom of every page to flag it up to the proper site staff who are paid to sort out these issues. Hopefully they can tweak it. I generally only deal with spam and the odd flame war.

Regards Peter
