Burning smell

Hello all,

I smell a funny burning smell after a quick acceleration. For example, I will be cruising on the highway at about 60 then I will accel up to say 70. Then when I come back to say 65, I begin to smell this burning smell.

My boyfriend thinks it is a leak in the coolant system and fluid is leaking on to manifold and then burning.

Has anyone had this problem? Can anyone give some insight into this problem?

What model of insight?

Could be something dripping onto manifold/exhaust. Water/Oil possibly.

Perhaps it's just overheating in general.

Is the coolant level correct?

Temperature gauge reading normally?

Does the heater work correctly?

Stop and have a look under the bonnet immediately the symptoms appear.

Check the brakes for binding/smoking

Yeah, we need to know more about the car. I ust test drove a crz and it had a range of smells I smelt while driving it. Its likely oil for an older car, paint burnig off of painted parts for a new car.
