Default US Tax credit on the Insight?

I was reading about the plug in vehicle tax credit that is out there for $7500. Does anyone know if the I2 is eligible for some kind of a tax credit?

Given the difference in price and fuel efficiency, you'd probably regret that when gas hits $4/gal again...like... next week.

Haha, probably. Although with the $2000+ tax credit, the break even point in terms of gasoline is probably a year down the road!

Thanks for replying, everyone. It appears we have a decent cross-section of people here and a lot of well thought-out discussion
