While Honda hybrids are built and imported from Japanese plants, the £:Yen exchange rate does not favour their future presence in the UK market.

Just compare the price of a Jazz from the Swindon UK plant with an Insight from Japan.

Thats about double what my sidekick is putting out and its 17 years old.

Somehow I was expecting 300 hp or just shy like 292 or somethin.

What on earth is Honda doing? They should put the insight engine in there & get 60+ mpg highway. I guess we'll never seen another car over 50mpg again.

However I do agree that Honda should make a light weight CRZ to then create two new versions - one for economy and one for performance. Mugen did offer the iCF concept in the UK, didnt really gather any interest though...... namely due to being a £6k option that had to be fitted new at the dealership during the PDI! Too much cash.

I guess the lithium has improved bother aspects but with the highlighted price jump and the CRZ in NiMh was never cheap to start with.

You have to remember the 'buy it new' customer and the used car enthusiast have very different attribute requirements and only one of those buyers actually gives their money to Honda!

Unlikely to pass EU5 emissions in that state let alone Japanese or a US Tier requirement.
