Default 2013 Honda CR-Z details

Please see link for details of the updated Honda CR-Z for 2013. Petrol engine and IMA power is now up to 135bhp combined. This is partly due to Honda using Lithium Ion IMA batteries for a 15kW output.

The CR-Z now has an extra boost button on the steering wheel that provides additional IMA power for 10 seconds - I wonder if Honda engineers have been watching the IMAC&C developments on this Forum

2013 Honda CR-Z prices revealed - What Car?

P.S. It now comes in 'Energetic Yellow' otherwise known as the new Citrus...

Following my post above, I have just looked at the Honda UK website here (click on new CR-Z link in middle of screen):

Honda CR-Z Hybrid | Book Test Drive | Specification, Finance & Information

...and realised that they are putting up the price by 2000 on average for each specification / trim level :sigh:

Now if they could drop about 500 pounds of weight, it would be a real contender.
Maybe in 2014 it will be alum. frame and skins.

They pretty much either need to add 10-15mpg or 40HP to make it a contender in.. anything.

I want to like the CR-Z, I really do.. But until they come out with a CR-Z HF and a CR-Z Si, it's not going to get much love.. from me, or the automotive community at large.

Maybe a "turbo".

Its a mussy dog of a car. Whats said above is true. They need to firm up the body and loose a hell of a lot of weight or make 300 hp under the hood.

Eli - you might get your wish, there should be a CR-Z Mugen version coming soon as well, with a supercharger increasing power to about 175bhp. However I do agree that Honda should make a light weight CRZ to then create two new versions - one for economy and one for performance. I don't know why car companies find it so hard to deliver what consumers want? (The JLR guys might want to jump in here...)

175 hp with boost? Really? If Honda comes out with that I'll be solely disappointed.

To even be considered a contender I think the CR-Z needs the K24 engine as part of the "Si" package. It'll have 201 hp and be fun to drive while getting good mileage. That engine is currently in the 2012+ Civic Si but that car isn't really a direct competitor since it has 5 seats.

Not sure why they made a middle of the pack car that does nothing well. You guys are spot on... they should have had two versions to cater toward the people that would actually buy a small 2-seater.

The only thing I know about mugen stuff is that its expensive. I owned a toy and their TRD stuff wasnt that bad.

The suspension needs serious help, it feels like they mixed it with the i2. The i2 has a firm sport like suspension where as the crz is cushy, bouncy like.

175 sounds kind of lower for a 16 v cross flow head.
