In Europe they sell heavier and less aerodynamic cars that get 60mpg, so I don't see why not.

Yep, our civic hybrids are 2661lbs (MT... the auto is 2732lbs)
2003 - 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid CVT/MT - CleanMPG Forums

The CR-Z is 2657lbs with MT (2681 for the loaded model!)
2013 Honda CR-Z - Specifications - Official Honda Site

Totally ridiculous for a 2-seater... the Veloster weighs almost the same and is a much bigger car.

A sample size of two is hardly representative of what the Malibu can do. And looks like it is doing really well for one of those folks. Great mileage for a big car.

When I testdrove the CRZ it looked like it had tiny rear seats, similar to what you find in a porsche..... too small for anyone bigger than a child.

The Japanese model actually does have seats in that spot...

The rear storage changed to JDM rear seats??? - Honda CR-Z Sporty Hybrid Car Forums

I think they decided Americans were too big/fat to want small back seats so they just pretended it was meant to be storage?

I'm kind of more curious about the corolla in the second post in the thread - the one with all the options. Lol
