Default Modified Module Case

Has anyone been shipped by Hybrid Revolt a module on which the bottom cover plate was replaced with a sheet of clear plastic?

I've never seen Insight packs besides the two I've seen from HR. Both had clear plastic covers on the bottom. I thought they came that way.

Of the hundreds of photos of modules on the internet not one shows anything but the factory supplied, thick, black plate. Not even the picture on their website.

Understood. You asked. I answered. At the time of posting, my reality was as stated. I've touched 2 and both had it. My reality remains the same except I've now seen pictures of a black plastic cover.

I suspect I'm not alone as one is a recondition and the other was supplied with new sticks likely separated by years.

The one with the clear plastic cover is currently in my '02 running as well as can be expected with the Christmas sticks of 2015 (untested, supplied by Eli for shipping only). The 40 month old HR sticks were all dead and unsalvageable.

Can't say it's HR's fault as it was shuffled from dealership to auction to dealership for several months while it mostly sat during an AZ summer.

Default Clear is factory, I reckon

Every IMA battery I have worked with (around ten now) came with the translucent/clear end panel.

My 0.02 worth,
Tim

^Ditto. Plus, that is indeed the end of the pack, not the "bottom" as OP described...

See the rightmost picture:

See the 4th picture:

The only picture I can find of a black end plate is the one on HR's own site:

NEW High Current 8 Amp Hour IMA Battery [HR-00-06-Insight-8AH] - $1,795.00 : HybridReVolt: Hybrid Battery Repair

FWIW, the HCH1 pack, which is highly similar visually, is secured with a black polystyrene cover (Styrofoam). The HCH2 is Styrofoam as well.
