CD changer installation

Hello. My Insight did not come with a CD changer. I would like to install an original equipment CD changer in the factory stock location. Has anyone done this? What parts are needed? Is there a factory install kit? Does anyone have one that they want to part with? Thank you for your time.

Don't hold me to this, but there is an install kit in addition to the CD changer itself that should have the instructions with it. Actually this page sells it and has the instructions in PFD form:

I put my Sirius brain in the cd changer spot and ran the cable to the head unit through the CD changer wire channel, it was easy to do. You might also look in to a universal aftermarket add on cd changer. It should be the same unit used in other Honda's, or at the least the CD changer used in the Insight is the same as the S2000.

If you get a Honda OEM CD changer, there is a mounting kit that fixes it solidly to the car. With the kit, I think the installation is not too difficult. There is also a post here:

I bought an aftermarket CD changer from another lister here at Insight Central. Electronically it was fine and the cables attached directly into the back of the head unit. I was going to try the mounting system from the above link, but I discovered that the dimensions of my CD changer were slightly greater than those for the OEM changer. I cut the foam as described above and THEN fabricated a mounting bracket out of sheet metal. It has worked great, but it was a pain in the neck to bend and install.

When I installed my JVC 12 disc changer, I followed those factory instructions. It is pretty easy to get the power/audio wire back to the changer. The hardest part for me was to cut out the foam to get the changer to fit. Just take your time. I'm not sure how different it is with the factory changer but I'd expect the it's a littl easier.
