Sounds to me like you need to just fix the odometer/A/B button.

Also: mileage is stored in the dash cluster according to a thread here.

On my 2000 I have a dealer sticker on the door jam that say the cluster was replaced at 102K. The original owners notes confirmed that. So I have to add 102K to what I see on the cluster.

Mileage is in the cluster. No where else
