I seem to remember on this forum that the Insight should NOT be put in a bake booth after it is painted. I did a search and could not find this topic. Guess what? I just had my car repainted at Honda, and they put it in a bake booth. I forgot to mention this to Honda before bringing it to them, as I made the mistake of (once again) assuming the dealership knew how to service the car. The batteries seem to be operating fine. Am I right in being worried, and if so, what can be the short or long term impact of this? Any advice on how to proceed? (The car still has the original 144v, under warranty.) Thanks.

Thanks...I knew I saw it somewhere. I guess I'll keep everyone updated as to any ill effects...

I read somewhere in the owners manual or the service manual years ago about making sure the paint booth temperature does not exceed a certain temperate.
If my memory serves me right I believe the maximum temperate limit is 65 degrees Celcius. But don't quote me on that.

If you can't find the Honda sticker in the driver's doorjam, or if it is missing, message me and I will email a pic of the one on mine. It is a specific warning label warning about paintbooth temps and your IMA battery.

I will be sure to store this bit of info, as I plan on repainting when I no longer am keeping my car parked on nyc streets. Anyone have an insight repainted? I did a google image search to try and find the insight in white or some really bright colors, and nothing came up, anybody got pics of alternate colors? i wonder how much a good re spray would cost on the insight...

Frank,
I've always thought that an Insight painted with Chevy's atomic orange metallic would look really great.
Only problem is it wouldn't go well with the early gray interior, but oh well... Check it out.

Don, I like that. I had been considering "safety orange" that was apparently an option on my 77 mercedes 280se, according to a british spec 280se pamphlet i got on ebay. I have considered colors like "safety orange", hot pink, lime green, grellow, and i am beginning to settle on plain old "2001 space odyssey" white. mmmmm.
