If money is no object... get the CVT and don't look back (prices appear to be heading into the are-you-
kidding-me territory, as other threads have pointed out lately).
After approx. 7 years, almost 50,000 miles, and 55.6 LMPG, I can tell you (man, this is going to sound
old) not having to shift is a very pleasant experience, and you're not reeeeeeally giving up
that much performance. You
are giving up a few MPGs. But I do like the convenience.
Of course, when I
really want to tear up the road in a standard shift, I could just have borrowed My Bubba's Viper.
