Default Keep my manual Insight or buy an automatic?

Hi,
I get tired of shifting. Anyone else? What will happen to my fuel economy? I need the pros and cons please.
Thanks,
Joe

That's why I bought a CVT and have to settle for "only" 55-65 MPG......

I couldn't drive the insight with the CVT...at tleast the 5 speed has a little pep to it when needed...I cant imagine the CVT.

...plus the mileage hit

...plus manual tranny is fun for me.

pro-less shifting
con- being maligned by most of us on the site (not quite sure how bad that really is though)
pro-perhaps being happier
con-perhaps contributing to the downfall of civilization. It's a fact that each time someone switches from a manual to a cvt, somewhere on earth a crime is comitted.

I think that you should stick to the manual. One because you will pay a crazy amount for another insight, and two-its more fun!

Keep what you have......as stated you would have to pay a LOT for another.

If money is no object... get the CVT and don't look back (prices appear to be heading into the are-you-kidding-me territory, as other threads have pointed out lately).

After approx. 7 years, almost 50,000 miles, and 55.6 LMPG, I can tell you (man, this is going to sound old) not having to shift is a very pleasant experience, and you're not reeeeeeally giving up that much performance. You are giving up a few MPGs. But I do like the convenience.

Of course, when I really want to tear up the road in a standard shift, I could just have borrowed My Bubba's Viper.

There is a good summary of the pro's and con's of manual or automatic at the start of this recent thread:

I think you should sell your 5-speed to me, and look for a more convenient automatic for you!

Both!

At the rate these cars are appreciating in value, invest in Insights and retire early
