Default OK, I give up

I tried searching for Manual and got 2700 hits. I then tried Owners Manual and got 350 hits After searching the first 100 I realized I was not going to find a manual that way. All the hits referred to OWNERS of MANUAL transmission cars. So at the risk of offending someone by asking a question I might find with a search, How or Where can I find a manual on this car. The Haynes Manuals (dont like them anyway) on Honda do not include the Insight. I havent seen a Chiltons Manual on the car. I dont need an Owners Brochure, I need a real manual that will tell me how, for instance to remove the intake manifold and clean the EGR channels. I dont want to be continually asking for help on this forum when I can get it from a book....maybe.

You don't want the owner's manual for that - it just tells you things like where the heater controls are. You want a shop manual, and as the previous post said, Helm (helminc?) will have it.

I bought both the shop manual and the electrical troubleshooting manual - both were $131 with shipping from HELM INC.

You can also get a copy of any of the Insight Manuals from the parts counter of your Honda Dealer.

Different types of Manuals specifically for the Honda Insight:

#1> Owners Manual ( This is th basic one that comes with the car )
#2> Shop Service Manual
#3> Electrical Troubleshooting Manual
#4> Body Repair Manual

There are a handful of different publications depending on the year of insight you have... Mine is a 2000 so all my copies of the manuals above are for the 2000 model year insight... although from what I have read 90% of the material is the same for all the different year models... only a few things here and there.

Years ago, when I first got my Service Manual I got it really cheap from the dealer because it was their used shop copy and they were buying the newest version... but at that time Honda was still making new Insights... today I doubt you could get that kind of a deal... but Helm still publishes new copies of all the manuals ... I also got a copy of the ~30Minute technicians video on VHS from Helm.

The basic Owners manual is also here:

If you're getting a shop manual it's worth getting one that covers your year. There are a pretty fair number of small changes from model year to year...
