Thanks Sean. I see that picture in my post above which was why I didn't understand his post.

Maybe it is visible on a desktop but I don't see it on my iPhone.
Ahh, that has to be it.

I made it! This was to fuel starve. See, an Insight can hold over 13 gallons.
Was this with or without loading extra fuel into the charcoal canister? I'd like to know just how low I've gotten it when I've filled more than the 10.6 gallons nameplate capacity.
I also weighed my Insight with 2 bars of fuel and a backpack in the back at 1835 lbs. I figured there was a gallon of gas in there and figured 6 pounds plus the backpack at 19 lbs to be 1810 lbs. ..but based on what you are saying, I'm thinking possibly 1800 lbs flat or maybe a little short of that? For what it's worth I filled 10 gallons in after the second click(without loading the canister) driving around enough to bring me down to zero bars on that same tank.

I suppose it was loading the canister. All I know is it took FOREVER to get the thing full. When I put my measured gallon in to get to the station, it went up to 1 bar. I think I saw somewhere that the rated curb weight of an MT Insight with A/C was 1850 lbs.

Ok, I'm 6 weeks into ownership of my 2001 Insight and here is my first really impressive readout after a trip to Southampton (UK is a small country, that's about as far as I could go without encountering an ocean!) Next morning I snapped this.
Not quite as impressive as some here, but I'm still proud of myself. Had two recals on this tank, so I could've done better. Going to have to invest in a grid charger as soon as time and funds allow.
That's insane, you've got 3 bars of fuel left after 775miles!!!
If you top off the tank (which I no longer do) you can squeeze nearly 14(?) gallons into the car.
That said, my car at least doesn't seem to trigger the auto-stop feature on a consistent level of fill. I've been reverse calculating fuel used and stop the pump at the calculated usage which seems to consistently be before the auto-stop trigger for the pump. YMMV.

Even more insane was when I had 3 bars...at the 1500 mile mark.
