Default Insight recall?

So Honda called today and told me there is a recall on my 04 insight? One part, the girl didn't know what one and a manage thing (likely a computer reright or update) 1.5 hours. Anyone hear of a resent recall?

I don't think that Honda has my number unless the DMV handed it over, how did they get yours?

Did anyone ever figure out what year models were affected by this recall? I wonder if this software update has anything to do with this:

Default Hybrid Recall, it is the Civic HCH

I think they have they have the same Batteries as Gen 1 Insight but 22 sticks to give 158V nominal

link to PDF File (Honda Tech Bulletin)

http://www.hybridcars.com/files/A10-034.pdf

Reading the Bulletin, this is not the first Campaign to fix an IMA issue.

Now if only they would install a Grid Charger!

The HCH2 has 22 sticks but they are two sticks welded together in a U-shaped pair. So there are 11 serviceable modules. They are shrink wrapped alternating colors orange and green. There is another thread about these by Hybrid-Battery-Repair with pictures of the pack. He has said that they test out at the same capacity using an identical test method even though Honda rates them differently. The paired sticks look identical in the pictures that I have seen of the Gen 2 Insight packs. ...except there are 7 modules or 14 sticks(84 cells) instead of 11 modules or 22 sticks(132 cells). With less cells in series the imbalance between sticks will likely be less of an issue as there are less cells to deviate from each other. It is also less work performing a repair when working with 7 units instead of 20 separate sticks, but it also means that one or two bad cells in a 12 cell double stick is going to cause more of these double sticks to get tossed into the bin of non-serviceable modules, likely making them cost more when rebuilding than 2 separate sticks.

Default Insight 2 Battery Pack Price

For Insight Gen 2 Cars, Honda have decimated the cost of a Pack.

Insight 2 pack is under £1000 when I enquired at the Dealer Spares desk.
