Anti Theft Light

since i drive my Insight most of the time during the day, i just did notice this tonight. When the car is off, the anti theft light in the sound system blinks red constantly. Is this normal? Why? Can not find a thing about this in the manual

To the best of my knowledge:

The light indicates an anti-theft feature of the sound system, only (not the car). It blinks whenever the car is off. If the (12V) battery is ever disconnected (or the stereo removed from the car), the stereo requires a code to be entered before it will function again.

Fortunately, mine came with the little card that has the code - though I've replaced the unit with an aftermarked unit anyway, so that I can listen to my audio books off a thumb drive.
